Richardson (pictured racing for Swindon Robins in 2007) is believed to have been thrown head first into a solid safety fence while racing for PGE Marma Rzeszow against Betard Sparta Wroclaw. He suffered a serious leg injury and had internal bleeding and breathing difficulties before later dying in a hospital in Wroclaw. It is believed internal bleeding in the chest area is what ultimately killed him. Read more.....
| Rea wins controversial race two at Donington Jonathan Rea took the tenth World Superbike win of his career as he won race two at Donington in controversial fashion Rea took his second win of the season after an incident-strewn race two at Donington. On the first corner Carlos Checa (Althea Racing Ducati) and Eugene Laverty (Aprilia Racing Team) touched and Checa went down, taking out Jakub Smrz (Liberty Racing Team Effenbert Ducati) and Checas team-mate Davide Giugliano. Then Laverty himself crashed heading down Craner Curves as eventual third place man Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) led for most of race distance. He was finally overhauled by a warring faction which included eventual second place man Max Biaggi (Aprilia Racing Team) plus Leon Haslam and Marco Melandri (BMW Motorrad Motorsport). Read more....
| Dominant Stoner takes championship lead with win at Estoril
Repsol Honda Teams Casey Stoner made it two wins in a row to take the lead in the MotoGP championship with victory at the Grande Prémio de Portugal Circuito Estoril. Having led from the start, the reigning World Champion never gave up the lead, as he put in another dominant performance at the Portuguese circuit, ahead of championship rival, Factory Yamaha Teams Jorge Lorenzo. | HILL HAILS BEST EVER RACE TO TAKE FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON
MCE BSB champion Tommy Hill hailed his winning performance at Oulton Park as the best of his career after beating his Swan Yamaha team-mate Noriyuiki Haga and Josh Brookes in the first race of the Bank Holiday weekend. The race had seen Hill start on the fifth row of the grid but he powered in a performance full of fight and determination to carve through the pack and snatch his first victory of the season. | Stoner takes first ever Jerez victory in epic race
On a day when MotoGP fans around the globe were treated to three absolutely thrilling races, reigning World Champion Casey Stoner took his first premier-class victory at the Jerez track at the Gran Premio bwin de España, as he fought an epic battle with championship rival Jorge Lorenzo. With rain throughout much of the practice sessions, and the ever-imminent threat of rain, it had looked like a wet race may ensue. However the Jerez sky was kind to the riders and the fans, resulting in some tremendous racing from the off. Read More

Travis Perkins Plc, the UK's leading builders merchant, have re-signed with commercial rights holder MotorSport Vision as an Official Sponsor of the 2012 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship (BSB) in a deal brokered by The Perfect Image Sports Marketing Limited. | TAS Racing to continue with Suzuki GB backing
TAS Racing will maintain its official Suzuki GB backing for the 2012 MCE British Superbike Championship season as the Irish-based team confirmed its place on the grid with two bikes. TAS Racing, better known as Relentless by TAS Suzuki in recent seasons, enjoyed a successful 2011 season, with Josh Brookes winning twice on the way to fifth in the Superbike class, while Alastair Seeley wrapped up the British Supersport title on the new GSX-R600 Read more
| Rutter storms to victory at Macau British Superbike veteran Michael Rutter made Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix history today by taking a seventh victory on the famous Guia street circuit, bettering the existing record he had shared with fellow legend Ron Haslam since 2005, in what could be the last running of the event due to fall out between organisers. Rutter, aboard the Riders Ducati proved why he is the greatest rider the event has ever known in the 10-lap race, winning by a margin of 4.772 seconds and setting the fastest lap of the race. Second was Rutters team mate Martin Jessopp, with Ian Hutchinson on the Swan Yamaha R1 making a remarkable return to competition by taking third for an all-British podium. | BSB ANNOUNCES SENSATIONAL 2012 CALENDAR
A field of 32 riders and 16 Elite teams representing six manufacturers conforming to brand new, ground breaking technical regulations will contest a new look 12 round, 26 race championship which features eight major UK circuits plus, for the first time, the famous Assen Circuit in the Netherlands on 21-23 September. The TT Circuit Assen is considered the most historic motorcycle racing circuit in the world, having hosted the premier class World Championship every year since 1949 and it is acknowledged as "The Cathedral" of motorcycling. With the appeal of the MCE Insurance BSB Championship expanding beyond the UK with International riders, worldwide television coverage and World Championship pedigree teams, this is a natural progression for the championship to have visibility in Continental Europe yet remaining accessible to the legions of British BSB fans. Suzuki has officially announced it has withdrawn from the MotoGP world championship with immediate affect, ending months of speculation about the future of the Japanese factory squad. A short statement issued today said that the impact of the global economic crisis had been a major influence on Suzukis decision to suspend its MotoGP effort for 2012 and '13. The Hamamatsu factory though confirmed it is planning a return to the 1000cc class in 2014. Read more
| THERE is only one word to describe the final weekend of the British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch: absolutely stunning!
After 26 races over seven months it all came down to the last race on the last day. And his epic battle with America's John Hopkins even came down to the last yard of track! In a winner-takes-all finale, Tommy and Hopper traded places right up to the chequered flag and home-boy Tommy nicked it by an incredible six one-thousands of a second! That race will be remembered as not only one of the best BSB races of all time but one of the best of any class of motorcycle racing. Read more
